Subsequent to the publication of the above-mentioned reports there has been considerable public discussion as to the adequacy oi the present earned income relief, and many reasons have been advanced for the extension of such relief. Inasmuch as the former reports did not cover this phase of the subject, this further report is prepared for the purpose of discussing the adequacy and distribution of the present relief, and for the purpose of developing certain new methods which will give equity as well as simplicity.
