But the Library will speak for itself whensoever it is ex amined with accuracy; and all that remains now to be wished is, that a collection made with so much care, at so great an ex pense, and accumulated by such slow degress, by such a mind as that of Dr. Parr, may be kept together, and placed in a situation, in which it may become a light to scholars and to future generations.
This Preface must not be concluded, without a distinct acknowledgement of the obligations incurred to Mr. Bohn, jun. For the great labour which he has bestowed in compiling this work, as well as for the judgment and knowledge which he has shewn in correcting errors occasioned by the indistinct hand-writing of Dr. Park, or the blunders of his various amanuenses.
