Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from Minority Physicians: A Profile: September 1993
Despite the increase in their numbers in the general population over the past few decades, blacks, Hispanics, and American Indians are still underrepresented among physicians. It seems unlikely that the set of dynamics now in place will eliminate the underrepresentation of minorities in medicine in the foreseeable future. As we assess the future supply of minority physicians, it is clear that we will have to run hard to stay in place, and even harder to get ahead.
