In order to permit of the wide distribution of separate papers, the reports are chie?y administrative. All communicated papers giving the results of completed investigation are, so far as possible, issued as bulletins which can be distributed without expense to the museum. A list of the bulletins accompanying this report will be found in the table of contents. Succeeding the administrative report is a list of accessions to the collections Of the museum for the year ending Sep. 30, 1899.
