Further, the work of the Engineering Faculty has been recognized by the people of the province in such a way that the attendance has increased by leaps and bounds.
For these and other reasons it has been necessary to increase steadily the equipment of the power department to illustrate the modem methods and also to provide sufficient apparatus foi the increased number of students.' As the number of pieces of apparatus increased the available space became more and more crowded 'until during the last few years it has been difficult to carry on the work successfully The steam laboratory had been placed in a comparatively low basement and the moisture and heat produced by the steam made the working conditions very bad.
