The information contained in this chapter will enable the engineer to under stand and intelligently direct the operation of refrigerating apparatus.
The purification of feed-water being a subject of vital importance, considerable space has been devoted to modern methods of purification, the neutralization of corrosive water, and the testing of feed-water.
With the exception of those portions that were revised, Volume I has been printed from the same plates that were used in the first edition.
