Publisher's Synopsis

Excerpt from Dissertations on the Philosophy of the Creation and the First Ten Chapters of Genesis

Origin of Alphabetic Writing we had not had imposedl upon us the necessity of studying Egyptian hieroglyphics and the history of Egypt in order to demonstrate the impossibility Of. Such a theory having any foundation in truth. After finishing our labours in investigating the nature and origin of hieroglyphic writing, we turned to the antediluvian evi deuces of the existence of alphabetic writing, and determined the conclusion that Jehovah, the Divine Son, invented the ancient Hebrew language and alphabet, by which He wrote on His first' stone-pillar or Boetylus the History of the Creation for Adam, to teach him the origin and reason of the Sabbath-day, and to keep the first Sabbath or Seventh day of the Creation with Him and the sons of God or the angels in Paradise. And again, after the Fall, and the expulsion of Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden, He raised and inscribed on His second pillar or Boetylus the prophecy of the Seed of the woman who should bruise the serpent's head to redeem mankind.
