The present edition of Hazlitt's Essays on the Fine Arts proceeds on the plan of collecting to gether, so far as was found practicable, all the papers written on this subject, and not included in the new collection of Hazlitt's miscellaneous works. A few articles, properly belonging to the series, have been already included in tab/e-f/'em and the Plain is'pea/cer, to which th author origin ally contributed them.
