The Building Code contained in this volume having been enacted by the Municipal Assembly, was approved by the Mayor on October 24, 1899, and by virtue of its concluding section, will be in force December 23, 1899, which date is sixty days after its approval by the Mayor. The authority to pass the code, is conferred upon the municipal authorities by sec. 647 of the Greater New York Charter (l. 1897, ch. 378) as follows.
