The genus of Saxifraga is on the whole one of the mofi elegant we have in Europe, and the fpecies before us one of the molt rare. It was {hown to Dr. Richardfon by Dr. Km fione, rowing plentifully on Knutsford moor, Chefhire, eafiy in the fall century, and our wild fpecimens were gathered latt fummer in a morafs about the centre of the fame moor by Mr. Okell of Chefier. It is perennial, flowering in Auguf'r, and may be cultivated in a moiti border of hog earth.
