La reforme de 1880 vient d'etre accomplie. Elle a ete subie, 'plutot qu'acceptee, par une partie du per sonnel enseignant. Il est sage de laisser la mauvaise humeur se calmer, la defiance s'eteindre. Il est sage aussi d'attendre, pour voir ce que donnera l'applica tion de la reforme. Deux 'annees s'ecoulent, au bout desquelles il devient possible de parler des choses de l'enseignement secondaire, dans une atmosphere relativement apaisee, et en interpretant les donnees d'une experience qui, bien que courte, est deja probante.
