Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from Sussex Archaeological Collections, Relating to the History and Antiquities of the County, Vol. 19
Although Hydoneye, or as it is usually called Hydneye, takes precedence of Northeys, in the position in which the Hastings limbs are placed with reference to each other, in the most ancient notices of them - Hydneye standing fourth, and Northeys the last - I shall begin with Northeys, as the larger place of the two, and as that of which my history will, I think, he found fuller and more complete than that of Hyd neye, of which but little is left on record.
