Excerpt from Thoughts on Physical Education: Being a Discourse Delivered to a Convention of Teachers in Lexington, Ky, on the 6th and 7th of Nov; 1833
The following production being too long for a Discourse, and too short for a Treatise, and possess ing neither the style nor manner Of an Essay, is a sort of nondescript in form, and by a certain class of readers, will perhaps, at first sight, be considered no less so, in some Of the sentiments itcontains. Should it be favored, however, with an attentive perusal, and a few second and serious thoughts, it is hoped that a more familiar acquaintance with it, will wear off any disagreeable effects, that first impressions may have produced.
