Mr. Nichols had made considerable collections for a history of the festival of the Boy Bishop throughout Europe, but, upon these papers being handed over to me, it was found that they were jottings, to be investigated at leisure, and would take months, nay perhaps years, to work out with any degree of satisfaction: Under these circumstances all that could be done was to confine my remarks to the Boy Bishop in England - ma subject to which I had given some little attention - and to prefix them to the two Sermons which Mr. Nichols had already prepared for the press.
