Die Lage einer Figur auf der Hulfskugel?ttche kann mit der Lage der entsprechenden Figur auf der krummen Flache ent weder ubereinstimmend, oder ihr entgegengesetzt (die umge kehrte) sein. Der erste Fall findet statt, wenn zwei auf der krummen Flache von demselben Punkt nach verschiedenen, je doch nicht entgegengesetzten Richtungen gezogene Linien auf der Kugel?ache durch ahnlich liegende Linien dargestellt wer den, (1. H. Wenn das Bild der rechts liegenden Linie ebenfalls rechts liegt. Der zweite Fall tritt ein, wenn das Entgegenge setzte gilt. Beide Falle wollen wir durch das positive oder negative Vo rz ei ch en des Krummungsmaasses unterscheiden. Diese Unterscheidung kann offenbar nur insofern statthaben, als wir auf beiden Flachen eine bestimmte Seite auswahlen, auf der wir die Figur liegend denken. Auf der Hulfskugel wollen wir stets die aussere, vom Mittelpunkt abgewandte Seite nehmen: auf der krummen Flache kann ebenfalls die aussere Seite, oder die, die als aussere angesehen wird, gewahlt werden, oder besser dieselbe Seite, auf der die Normale errich tet wird; augenscheinlich wird namlich hinsichtlich der Ueber einstimmung der Lage der Figuren nichts geandert, wenn man auf der Flache sowohl die Figur, als die Normale auf der ent gegengesetzten Seite gezogen denkt, falls nur ihr Bild immer auf derselben Seite der Kugelfiache beschrieben wird.
