Publisher's Synopsis

Excerpt from A Descriptive Catalogue of the Western Manuscripts in the Library of Queen's College, Cambridge

The initials are remarkable throughout. A good many have their original red silk guards left. The principal colours employed are gold (not burnished), lightish blue, green, orange-scarlet and pink. The main divisions of the Psalter (into seven nocturnes and into three fifties) are distinguished by large initials. The opening words of these psalms were to have been written in gold capitals: but this has been neglected except in the case of Beatus vir and Salaam me fac (lxviii).
