Excerpt from Size and Form in Plants: With Special Reference to the Primary Conducting Tracts

Physiology of Plants, ' and developed by Von Goebel in his Organographic, chiefly in relation to external form. The result has been to show that certain of the characteristic mouldings which the inner tracts assume arise independently of the in sertion, or even of the existence of appendages however deeply those tracts may be thus modified where appendages are present, and particularly where they are large.
