Publisher's Synopsis

Excerpt from Foreign Agriculture Circular: Poultry and Eggs; January 1976

Improved profitability caused broiler producers to expand their production sharply during the last A months of 1975. Early indications are that output will continue about a tenth larger during the first half of 1976.

Turkey producers are expected to increase production for first half 1976 by about 15-20 percent Over the same period of 1975.

Egg production in 1976 may show a slight increase from the 6h.3 billion level of 1975 but be less than the billion produced in 197h. Layer numbers are expected to continue to increase some in early 1976 and move above year - earlier levels. Large numbers of force molted birds may be removed from flocks after Easter. This would result in egg output drop ping back near year - earlier levels during the second quarter.
