Publisher's Synopsis

Excerpt from The Feed Situation: October 1948

The total supply of all feed concentrates, including feed-grains, byproduct feeds, and wheat and rye for feeding, for the year beginning October is 28 percent larger than the 1947-48 supply, which was slightly below the prerar (1987-41) average. In relation to the number of live stock to be fed, the supply of concentrates this year is larger than for any other year. In total, it is only about 4 percent below the record supply in 1942748, when a large quantity of domestic wheat and imported grain was used for livestock feed.
