The work of the Fruit Specialist, as it is now arranged, covers t1 phases; the home and commercial orchards. Our real and most important w: has been with the home orchards. We have with the assistance of the ccu] Agents, located in several good fruit ominti zes, hone orchards, which are be used as demonstrations, being cared for by the owner under the direct of the Fruit Specialist and County Agent. These orchards are to be give] regular and.systematic attention in the way of cultivation, pruning, spre and fertilization, etc., according to the directions given. They are lcc as far as possible in different parts of the county there they will be oi served frequently and by as many intesested people as possible. These a: preferably young orchards but may be of, bearing age. The County Agent vi them as frequently as practical, advising with the grower while the Fruit Specialist makes seasonal visits to the agent and with him goes over the to assist and advise with him. These orchards are to be kept for five or years and the proper handling of the home orchard clearly demonstrated.
