Excerpt from Fats and Oils Situation: August, 1975
Early August indications are for the second largest soybean crop of record, estimated at' billion bushels. This is 18 percent above the drought and frost damaged 1974 crop but below the 1973 record of billion. Acreage for harvest this year is estimated at million acres and yields at bushels per acre, bushels above the low level of 1974.
With the carryover, soybean supplies for 1975/ 76 total a record billion bushels, 20 percent above the current year and slightly over the pre vions record of billion bushels in 1973/ 74.
