Publisher's Synopsis

Excerpt from The Historic Episcopate in the Columban Church and in the Diocese of Moray

When in the province of the Picts, Columba was told Of a fountain Of water that was worshipped by the heathen people. Those who drank Of the fountain, or washed their hands and feet in it, were struck with leprosy or some other infirmity. To show the fraud that was being practised by the Druids, Columba and his companions fearlessly drank of the water, and washed their hands and feet in it. By this the Druids were confounded, as they saw that no harm happened to the saint and his brethren, after they had drunk of the spring.
