A me non importa nè, la Dio mercè, importò mai di fama che potesse venirmi da cm ch'io scrissi o tentai; dacchè, se non giovai, non la merito; e se giovai, il fatto stesso d'aver giovato parmi ricompensa che basti. Ma il pensiero di ripubblicare, raccolte, ordinate, accresciute le cose mie, e oggi forse meno inopportuno di prima; ond' io vi aiuterà, anche per gratitudine agli amici che lo sugge rirono, nell'impresa, come tempo e casi concederanno e sulle norme che vi trasmette l'amico.
