Publisher's Synopsis

Excerpt from Modern Thought in Its Latest Phases, Vol. 6

All the teaching that we have thus far had, and all our thoughts and reflections, lead us to this conclusion at last, that the world is, and always will be. As man makes it. It is a serious delusion to believe for a moment that either God, the Devil, or the King had anything to do with mak ing the world as we find it. It is wholly the work of man.

If we do right, we shall find that those with whom we deal will also be inclined to do right. Again, if we frown upon others, why should not others frown upon us? They most certainly will. And so it will be found that when we smile. Others by mere force of imitation or suggestion will also smile in return. That is not a law of nature for nature has no laws, we know - but it is one of nature's commonest manifestations.
