Stage 1 More First Words Pack A are six exciting new titles at Stage 1 of Oxford Reading Tree. Written by Roderick Hunt with lively illustrations by Alex Brychta. The stories continue to use the familiar characters and settings from Stage 1 wordless books. Each of the stories support early phonics learning, using two or three Year R high frequency decodable words and the familiar character names. The text is contructed in full, simple sentences, whilst at the same time engaging the children with interesting storylines. All six titles are Bookbands colour coded. Titles: BLIs It? It includes a Vocabulary Chart listing Year R high frequency words/context words, and a Curriculum Coverage Chart listing activities and outcomes for England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales. Each story has individual notes and suggested activities for Group and Independent Reading, Speaking and Listening and Writing, with each section showing the relevant NLS objectives covered. Within each section are prompts and suggestions for responding to the story, personal experiences, cross-curricular links, role play and further suggestions on how to observe pupils' progress.
