It is the key guide to travel patterns and illustrates how many people travelled, where they went and why and gives a picture of how long they stayed and what they spent. It also looks at long and short-term trends in travel to and from the UK. This title shows overseas residents' visits to the UK increased by six per cent in 2002, and their spending grew by four per cent. In 2002, overseas residents made 24.2 million visits to the UK, 1.3 million more than in 2001. These visitors spent £11.7 billion while in the UK, £0.4 billion more than in 2001.
