This book teaches readers how to use 13 of the standard utility programs that IBM supplies with its OS/MVS system. These utilities are general purpose programs that can be tailored for specific jobs. For example, the print utility can print files in a wide variety of formats - all the user has to do is supply a few control statements that specify the desired format. Besides the print utility, the text covers utility programs that create, rename, format and delete files, as well as those that list catalogue and VTOC information. It also covers the data generator utility, which makes it easy to create large test files, and the AMS program which performs a variety of functions for VSAM files.
