Publisher's Synopsis
The report summarizes experimental and theoretical work on an Oxford type Stirling Cycle mechanical precooler operating in the temperature range of 13-20 degrees Kelvin. It includes measurements of the thermal losses of particle regenerators made from lead, and rare earth and rare earth alloys in an operating three stage cryocooler. A 6 K hybrid cooler is designed using the technical information gathered on regenerator performance.Gully, Willy and Herrero, Fred (Technical Monitor)Goddard Space Flight CenterCRYOGENIC COOLING; COOLERS; STIRLING CYCLE; OPERATING TEMPERATURE; RARE EARTH ALLOYS; REGENERATORS...
