Publisher's Synopsis
In the early 1800s, a young man named Joseph Smith claimed God appeared to him and said the church had become an abomination. An angel named Moroni later came to visit Smith and told him where to find an ancient manuscript inscribed on gold plates that would be translated into the Book of Mormon, another testament of Jesus Christ. From there Smith went on to found the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This book will examine many of the claims made by Joseph Smith and other Mormon teachers and compare them with what the Bible says. The book is set into 5 chapters with 8 points each, addressing what the Mormons believe about their chief prophet, God, Jesus Christ, Salvation, and Right-Living. As Scripture says, "Test everything; hold fast what is good" (1 Thessalonians 5:21).
