Formatting of this reading log series is simple and intended for use by a wide range of ages; babies and toddlers, preschoolers, PreK students, kindergartners, early primary school students, and/or their parents can all benefit for our reading logs.
The pages of this log book are formatted to contain:
- Space to write the title of a book
- Notes section for primary style printing handwriting
- 3 star rating section--your child can color in stars??? to record how much they liked a book

Practice makes perfect! Keep a reading log and encourage your child to read more books. Children love to visually see the progress they make reading their favorite picture books, early reader books, chapter books, and magazines. Challenge your child by setting goals with them. This log can be used in conjunction with an incentive or reward program to positively reinforce goals met. Start a book log with your child and set them on a path to becoming a confident lifelong reader and learner.
Reflection is a key part of this log. This reading log series asks children to reflect on books read by giving books a star rating and by providing a space for journaling. By tracking the likes and dislikes of books read, this log is an effective method to discovering what types of literature appeals to a reader.
