Publisher's Synopsis
This set of etudes is in deference to the great composers of string methods of the past. The goal was to keep in the tradition of the historic etudes from Kreutzer, Dont, Rode, Wolfhart, Kayser, Sitt, and many others. But there was also inspiration from Paganini and Chopin for their concertizing of works traditionally meant for the purpose of study. Bach is also an influence for this work, which is why each etude is written in a different key. There are not many dynamic markings, leaving the interpretation, phrasing, and dynamic contrast in the hands of the artist.
