Publisher's Synopsis

The 2019 Calaveras Ranger District Motorized Recreation Studies is an anthology of studies that provides a quantitative analysis of use data pertaining to the different types of motorized recreation observed on the Calaveras Ranger District in 2019. The data used in this anthology came from over 12,000 recreators observed using the 492 miles of motorized recreation opportunities on the Calaveras Ranger District and was used to produce studies such as "Average Motorized Users Per Day", "Distribution of User Types", "Motorized Use Versus Motorized Opportunity", "Comparison of OHV and Non-OHV Use", "Comparison of Motorized and Nonmotorized Use", and "Distribution of Trailers". Each study provides a framework that can be repeated for continuous annual surveys. This information may be useful for land managers, county officials, or business developers and operators as these studies provide comparative information for the many types of motorized recreation that exists on the market today. This study took place in the Calaveras Ranger District of the Stanislaus National Forest in California.
