Notes: The artist's memoir, giving a detailed account of his career among the leading artists and celebrities of his day, including his proselytising for Marinetti's Futurism and his time as an official war artist - avowedly forthright, Julian Freeman in the ODNB regards Nevinson's account as giving too much place to the latter quality in its title, being 'marked and marred by a strong undercurrent of confrontational right-wing xenophobia'.
