Notes: A set of gleeful and gloomy parodies of traditional verses, updated to reflect the Cold War era. Dehn was a poet, playwright, lyricist, etc., who gained fame as a screenwriter - his credits include Goldfinger and The Spy Who Came in from the Cold. The book's printed dedication is to Terence Rattigan. Gorey's illustrations offer a suitable rendering of the disappointment and malevolence.
