Notes: With the ownership inscription of composer Arthur Bliss to the flyleaf. Lewis and Bliss were well acquainted in the early part of their careers: a striking pencil portrait of Bliss was done by Lewis in 1922, and Bliss was amongst the group of friends that commissioned Lewis's portrait of Edwin Evans; Lewis provided a cover design for Bliss's 'Colour Symphony' a couple of years later - there had been plans, never realised, to collaborate on a 'contemporary opera'.
