Notes: Richards had, twenty years earlier, published Wickham's 'Man with a Hammer' - though by this time, its founder was somewhat distanced from his firm. Her present revival came as the first in a series instituted by the energetic John Gawsworth (a.k.a. Terence Fytton Armstrong, to whom the poem 'Conscience' here is dedicated) - though the idea of 'Edwardian poetry' had been curtailed by the King's abdication at the end of that year, and by the time of the collection the following year the term 'Neo-Georgian' was being employed.
