Notes: Signed on the title-page by one of the contributors, of a piece on 'Scarborough', V.S. Pritchett. Kate O'Brien writes on Southend, Antonia White on Brighton; Muggeridge and Laver tackle Bournemouth and Blackpool respectively, whilst the Editor closes the sequence with an account of Margate. On the dustjacket flap the book proclaims itself 'a synthetic history, the first of its kind, of the English Seaside Movement'.
