Notes: Inscribed by the author in Japanese and English to the front endpapers, that in English on the flyleaf with some partial erasure to the name: 'To [H.G.] Wal[ker] Esq., With greetings and Banzais, Gonnoské Komai, London, July 1928'. Komai was a poet, a friend of John Galsworthy, H.G. Wells and other literary figures in his adopted home of England - from where he writes this account of Japanese life and culture.
