Notes: A remarkably varied collection of fabric patterns, featuring the predominent design themes of the era - stylized natural motifs, pastel two-tone effects, saturated contrasting colours, geometric and atomic patterns, - and influences including Japanese kimono design and Greco-Roman 5th century imagery. The quality and playfulness of many of the designs are reminiscent of Lucienne Day's work, and the degree of skill with which the patterns have been created for different types of fabric, the overlaid motifs and use of watercolour on 'dress print on silk crêpe' for example, is evident.
