Notes: The first English edition of the libretto of Baldassare Galuppi's highly successful opera which opened in Venice in 1754. This edition marks the first English performance of the opera, 6th January, 1761, the singers and dancers listed under Dramatis Personae (pp. 2-3) including Angiola Calori, Teresa Eberardi and Signor Gherardi 'under the Direction of Signor Gioacchino Cocchi' who had been resident composer at the King's Theatre since 1757.
