Description: ONE OF 875 COPIES, this copy out of series, tipped-in colour-printed frontispiece and 4 further tipped-in colour-printed plates, printed in black and red with decorated initials throughout, a few spots to prelims and to page-borders further in, the half-title browned to borders, pp. xvi, 156, folio, original buff boards, backstrip lettered in gilt, backstrip and borders a little brownedwith some very light dustsoiling overall, light foxing to free endpapers, very good

Notes: With the stamp of artist Eric Kennington ('Homer House, Ipsden') to the front pastedown, and an inscription to him on the facing flyleaf 'from SBR, May 1934' - this being S.B. Russell, owner of the Lygon Arms in Broadway, and the father of furniture designer Gordon Russell. Laid in is a printed New Year missive from Russell for the same year (dated December 1933), with an illustration of a Knight Templar in red (this possibly also printed at the Alcuin Press).
