Notes: With a printed note from the author laid in, thanking the recipient 'for your kind sympathy in her great sorrow' – i.e., Nijinsky's death (it is dated to the fateful day); inside the folded sheet is a secretarial message ('Madame asks me to say...'), which explains that she is 'taking a much needed rest' but 'will send the book [perhaps this book] on'.
