Notes: The first book printed at the University Press and the first Greek book printed in Ireland. ESTC suggests Greek text and Latin translation: but only the title is translated. The book is dedicated (in Latin) to John Sterne, Dean of St. Patrick's 1705–1713, in which post he was succeeded by his friend Jonathan Swift. He was appointed Vice-Chancellor of the University of Dublin in 1721, and in 1726 he presented a sum of £1000 for a university printing house and press, which was established in 1734. Ordinary paper copies have a watermark B, large paper copies watermark Strasburg bend and lily. ...more
