Description: text in double columns, complete with initial and terminal blanks (the former with some annotation on the verso), capital spaces, a little inconspicuous worming at either end with the loss of a few letters, vellum fly-leaves, 246 leaves, folio (285 x 203 mm), 20th-century pale brown pigskin, brass catches, lacking clasps, spine detached, a bit rubbed, large (getting on for full-page) contemporary woodcut armorial woodcut ex-libris of Thomas Wolff the Younger (see below) on verso of last leaf, with a certain amount of annotation, presumably in his hand, most at the beginning but some throughout

Notes: A very good copy (a touch larger than the BL copy in contemporary Venetian calf), with a fine provenance, of one of the earliest printings of the great "Summa" of Medieval Theology, which was commented on by such eminent theologians as Sts. Thomas Aquinas, Bonaventure, Albert the Great, and by the Blesseds John Duns Scotus, Peter of Tarentaise, and Dionysius the Carthusian. The first edition of the Sentences was Strassbourg, Eggenstein, before 1471. Another Strassbbourg edition, ?Georg Reyner, is 'about' 1476.
