Publication Details: Longmans, Green, & Co., 1900

Notes: Essentially consisting of 27 letters and telegrams to the Morning Post, written between October 1899 and March 1900, Churchill's first-hand account of the Relief of Ladysmith, his dramatic capture on an armoured train, escape from prison camp and subsequent 300-mile trek to Delagoa Bay enthralled the British public and proved a catalyst in launching his political career. The binding of this book is very prone soiling and/or fading: in the scheme of things, this is quite a good copy.
