Lindy.

A Novel.

Description: FIRST EDITION, last few leaves slightly dog-eared, pp. 268, crown 8vo, original quarter black boards with red sides, backstrip lettered in green, a couple of light handling marks, top edge dark green, dustjacket by Geraldine Spence, a little toned to borders, very good

Publication Details: Jonathan Cape, 1958

Notes: Inscribed by the author on the flyleaf: 'For Sean Graham, London 3/x/58, BD' - the recipient was probably the author and film-maker, best-known for his work on Ghana. Basil Davidson was likewise an authority on the continent, and this may have formed the crux of their association - though both were also British Intelligence Officers during the Second World War. The novel concerns the effect of the arrival of American airmen into an East Anglian village.
