Description: dated from The Cockpit (Monck's Town residence) 23rd November 1667, addressed to Stephen Fox, Pay Master General to his Mats Forced in England, requiring him to pay Colonel John Russell the sum of £375/4/-, receipted by Russell, 1 page folio with integral blank leaf, sometime folded as a docket, a bit browned at edges and folds, verso of blank leaf dust-soiled

Notes: Right from the end of Monck's active career, and indeed only a little more than 2 years before his death. Together with a fine 1796 stipple engraved portrait of Monck by Bartalozzi, after the painting by Michael Wright, which, coincidentally, was made in 1667.
