Notes: The first letter, introducing the remainder, is signed by Frank Woodbine and dated 1848. The remainder are unsigned and are to various correspondents, including the writer's brother (initials D.M.) residing at Woodfield, and were written in the course of a tour of the United States in 1793. The upper wrapper in inscribed 'Mr. Maude's letters from America. Their publication was commenced in "The Patrician". The MSS are at Moorhouse near Wakefield.'
