U.s. Horticultural exports in January 1994 totaled $582 million, 17 percent above the same month a year earlier. Dramatic increases in exports of oranges, grapefruit, apples, frozen french fries, almonds, walnuts, hazelnuts, raisins, prunes, and potato chips were the major contributors to this outstanding performance. Declines were noted in ginseng, preserved fruit and vegetables, hops, and nursery products except cut flowers. During the first four months (october to January) of fiscal year (fy) 1994, the total value of horticultural exports was billion, percent above the same level last year.
