It has been said by a favorite author that at this time of year a young man's fancy turns to thoughts of love. T hat may have been so in other climes and times, but contemporary observation hereabouts persuades the observer that what our young men's fancies turn to in May, and as much as to anything else, is horse. When the town begins to warm, and the mud is known to have dried on the country roads, the desire to go on or after a quadruped begins to wrestle in many minds with the other reasonable desires that cost money, and in a certain percentage of minds, every year, horse prevails.
